At the heart of the remarkable Sainte-Marie Abbey Church, the SR9 Trio shakes up our bearings and creates a dialogue between eras through the prism of percussion. Vibraphone and marimbas replace bows and keyboards to make Jean-Sébastien Bach vibrate, Jean-Philippe Rameau dance, time stops with Erik Satie and Maurice Ravel ignites. But here, music is not just played: it becomes movement, matter, energy. Under the virtuoso batons of these three daring musicians, each note is transformed, each melody is reborn, between precise rigor and freedom of movement. The spectator finds himself caught up in a fascinating play of resonances and timbres, where the masterpieces of the repertoire come to life and reinvent themselves. A captivating concert to offer an experience as visual as it is sonic, at the crossroads of astonishment and rediscovery, with a nod to the mischievous Satie, who died a century ago, and to the enchanting Ravel, whose 150th anniversary we are celebrating.
